Dr. Jose Portela is a NUCCA Board Certified specialists. As founder of Balanced Spine Center, he practices in Clermont, Florida and is the only Upper Cervical specialist in the state. His career in the medical field became his vocation early in life. He grew up in a household full of medical doctors. As a Division I baseball player at Delaware State University studying pre-professional medicine, spinal hygiene was built into his lifestyle and made a priority. As an athlete, he has always believed in the benefits of chiropractic care.

In 2014, he graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida with awards in leadership and radiology.
